Apple Seeds Snow Leopard Build 10A394
Apple has seeded a new build (10A394) of their next Operating System - Snow Leopard - to developers. The new seed (655.3MB) was actually pushed through Software Update to systems with build 10A380 installed. While the seed documents only lists bug fixes and stability enhancements, it also brought the highly anticipated 'Dock Exposé' feature.
Exposé has been polished and refined and is now accessible directly from the Dock, hence the name 'Dock Exposé'. Don't worry, you can still access Exposé via the F3 key, scrolling with four fingers down or setting a hot screen corner. Here is a quick run-down of the changes:
-Windows in Exposé are now shown in a uniform grid
-Once in Exposé, tapping an application's icon will only show the windows belonging to that app
-Magnify a window while in Exposé by pressing space-bar
-You can scroll through all windows, even if they are magnified
-"Minimize windows in application icon" Dock preference
-'Black menu' when in Exposé mode
There is one feature that we would love to see tweaked in the final release - When a window is magnified in Exposé, it would be great to be able to be able to minimize, resize or close it. Hey, looky here :)
