Apple Releases OS X 10.6.1

Apple has released OS X 10.6.1 to users today, the first update to Snow Leopard since it was shipped. You can download the update via Software Update or directly from Apple's site.

Latest Snow Leopard Build: Wallpapers & QuickTime X Tweaks

Snow Leopard is shaping up really nicely and is on track for the September release date. Late last week, Apple seeded a new build of Snow Leopard to developers via Software update. The new build, 10A421a includes a bunch of new wallpapers, some new User Account avatars and some tweaks to QuickTime Player X's web interface. Apple Seeds Snow Leopard Build 10A394

Apple has seeded a new build (10A394) of their next Operating System - Snow Leopard - to developers. The new seed (655.3MB) was actually pushed through Software Update to systems with build 10A380 installed. While the seed documents only lists bug fixes and stability enhancements, it also brought the highly anticipated 'Dock Exposé' feature.

At WWDC '09, Apple released a near-complete version of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard (Build 10A380) to developers. While not feature complete, the new build has most of the important changes that you will see when Snow Leopard ships this fall. Apple has already detailed many of the refinements coming to Snow Leopard on its website, but we know a lot of you also wanted to see them in action. Last night, Apple seeded a new build of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard to developers. The new build has a few interface tweaks and a lot of changes under the hood. World of Apple has republished the seed notes and highlights some of the new features:

Snow Leopard may debut at MacWorld 2009

In an article today, The Guardian reports that at MacWorld 2009, Phil Schiller will be giving the world a first look at Apple's next OS, Snow Leopard.

Apple and its partners have been privately dropping hints to developers that its upcoming release of its Mac OS X operating system, dubbed Snow Leopard, will ship earlier than expected - and it will debut two new technologies that promise to speed up software without demanding any changes to the hardware.

Despite the early preview, Snow Leopard is expected to ship later in the year. Apple first announced Snow Leopard at WWDC 2008 highlighting its superior performance and new technologies like Grand central and Open CL. Early this week Apple revealed that MacWorld 2009 will be their last and that Phil Schiller would be doing the opening keynote.
