Today, Lensbaby announced two new lenses for their Optic Swap system, the new Fisheye Optic and Soft Focus Optic. Lensbaby is traditionally known for selective focus optics that produce an image with one “sweet spot” of sharp focus, surrounded by a gradual blur. Rather than using Photoshop or Aperture, the modified lenses allow you to achieve similar dramatic effects very easily. With the introduction of these new optics, Lensbaby is moving beyond the realm of selective focus to offer photographers a Creative Effects SLR lens system, with 6 different optic options.

I really liked the invitation Apple sent out for their media event tomorrow, so I made a quick wallpaper for my 15" MBP. When I have some time I will make a more detailed wallpaper and include multiple sizes. There are two wallpapers in the download - one with a white background and one which is clear (it will come out as a black background). Currently, there is only in one size 1440x900. For now enjoy.

Who knows, maybe I can use it as a wallpaper for the tablet ;)

I’d like to quickly introduce myself as the newest guest writer here at MyAppleGuide. Rather than bore you to tears with the details, I'll tell you how I started my crazy Apple obsession. A good friend of mine gave me an iBook G4 with a broken logic board and said if I fixed it I could have it for $75. It turns out that all I needed to do was the infamous shim fix, stick Leopard on it, and I had myself a beautiful little laptop. I quickly fell in love with it, and decided shortly after to make the switch.
